GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER POP’S SERIES
For multiple seasons Van Wormer was commissioned to stage choreography including “Carousel in Concert” featuring Doug Labreque at Eastman Theatre Kodak Hall, and for the RPO collaboration with the Nazareth Dance Festival “Overture to the Dance.” Van Wormer also partnered with the RPO OrKIDStra to stage “Carnival of the Animals,” and served as a liaison in the community to provide dancers and choreographers for subsequent RPO concerts.

MEMORIAL ART GALLERY
Organ and Body is a series co-developed by Vanessa Van Wormer and Stephen Kennedy, the director of Music and Organist of Christ Church, Rochester, and Professor of Sacred Music at the Eastman School of Music. The concert was featured as part of the “Third Thursday” platform in the Memorial Art Gallery Fountain Court. From 2012-2016 Van Wormer curated work from local and national choreographers, as well as contributed original site specific works to the concert in collaboration with Kennedy, featuring the Italian Baroque Organ.
THE AMERICAN SCHOOL IN SWITZERLAND
The American School in Switzerland Summer Program offers comprehensive courses in the performing arts attracting students from around the globe. Van Wormer’s collective VVWdance was commissioned for three consecutive years to present choreography and curate a full length concert centering around live music and dance. Van Wormer Commissioned original scores and set original work on faculty dancers, musicians, and poets at TASIS, as well as offering master classes with members of my company VVWdance.

TICINO IN DANZA
For three consecutive summers VVWdance was invited to perform in “Ticino in Danza,” a festival presenting site specific performances in Ticino, the Italian region of Switzerland, with the aim to bring dance out of its conventional space. Over the year the Festival hosts artists from Europe, Australia and the United States.
